The Kits Arrive
When the beginning of summer comes so do your little ones. You give birth to two healthy kits, a boy and a girl. They are incredibly little, their eyes still closed and ears not yet open to the world. You feel proud, a job well done, but now comes the hard part. Parenthood.
Gentle licks are given to each of your kits to clean their fur from the birth. Your mate has come into the den as well, sniffing at the newborns that you feel fiercely protect of already. You let out a light warning growl, letting him know that these are your babies and you will do anything to protect them from anyone. Your mate wouldn’t hurt the little ones though and join you in cleaning them.
Once the little ones are clean they wiggle close to your side and begin nursing. It is a new sensation to you, though not necessarily an unwelcome one. You know that the milk you provide is necessary for the survival of the two kits, at least until they can start eating meat. Though that day is fairly far off and right now you need to take things one day at a time.
Your mate will care for you and the kits while they are still very young. You won’t be able to leave the den for very long even after they get bigger but you do not mind that. Spending time with your kits is something you look forward to. Your old life has been pretty much forgotten as you live these realistic game, focusing on your new life as a female fox. You don’t even think about the past, your thought process more limited to what you do now.
Each time one of the kits squirms or lets out a little whimper you check on them, licking their little heads. They will be safe, come hell or high water. You will defend them.
