On patrol
"Think you can handle yourself alright there?" He asks. You simply nod again, maintaining your quiet demeanor. "Then it's time to assemble the pack." A deep resonating howl escapes his throat and pierces the already busy dawn. All take heed to his call and assemble in a line before the both of you. His Beta joins him by his other side and the three of you guide the small group out of the post.
Blades clank in their sheathes and armor rustles against furred forms as the grueling march gets underway. The trees and beasts around seem to watch you with dire intent, unsure of your presence. The ground itself trembles at the group's march. Your mind is racing through possible outcomes; infinite possibilities. Each sound from the corner of your senses keep you at a constant unease; worried.
The sun crests in the sky overhead as the land around you becomes familiar.
The rays from the bright orb shown brightly through the thinning trees. As you move on into midday, the end of the forest lays in sight. Several of the wolves begin grumbling from a need of food. The Alpha holds his paw, signaling all-stop. The column answers all-stop and draws their bows, kneeling in the low brush. The Alpha pulls you down beside him to keep you safe. Standing up slowly after a moment, sniffing around as he calls out in a low howl. No response and his ears go flat against his head as he puts a paw to his sword.
