"Wait up"
"Wait up!" you snapped.
The tiger glanced over his shoulder just as he left the clearing behind. You huffed to yourself and jogged after him "Where are the deer at? I don't see any."
"Up ahead." The tiger disappeared into the thick brush and once again left you behind.
You pressed onward and slapped the vines and fronds out of your way. The ground beneath your paws shifted to uneven stone, thickening with each new pawstep. The tiger stood far away with his paws on his hips, surveying a grand view. The sun blocked out everything except his frame. As you approached the edge, you stared down into a tremendous valley. They must be standing on a significantly higher elevation than the rest of the jungle. That's why it felt like you were flying! You had been running down hill with no way to stop.
Within the valley, a river flowed and created a minuscule watering hole. Brightly colored birds soared through the air and nibbled fruits from the trees. Monkeys swung from the branches, calling to each other. Fish splashed through the water and teased the nearby birds. The deer appeared from the side and approached the river for a drink.
"Follow the river, and you'll find life."
It made sense. Jungles were humid, and water was scarce. The animals would crowd around the closest source of water.
"Alright, but how do we get down?"
"Watch and learn."
The tiger ducked into a patch of red and purples flowers, and you watched as the grasses rustled, completely consuming the determined hunter. He poked his head up several yards away and waited for you to follow.
