Inn
This entire day has been nothing other than exhausting, so you decide to return to the inn and go to sleep. When you walk through the door, you notice something that hadn’t caught your attention the night before. The sound of people talking and laughing can be heard from a room opposite of the hall that leads to the guest rooms. You recall that the sign outside said this place was also a tavern, so you decide to check out that area before heading to bed.
What awaits you on the other side of the door is like any bar scene in a fantasy movie. The tavern is filled with creatures and people of all shapes and sizes that all seem to be getting along with each other well. You don’t want to bother anyone, so you just go to the bar and order yourself a bowl of water. Drinking anything out of a glass is near impossible in your current state and it would be beyond awkward to ask someone to hold the glass for you.
Only when you take a drink do you realize how parched you are. The bowl is quickly emptied and you order another one. Fortunately, the water is free. After you enjoy your fill, you remain seated at the bar and stare at your reflection in the water. You wish that you could admire your gorgeous face instead of hating it for belonging to the body you are trapped in. None of this is you and you just want to get out of here and never return.
“You don’t belong here, do you? I can tell.”
You are ripped out of your thoughts by a smooth voice coming from beside you. When you turn, you see one of the only complete humans that you have encountered so far. His clothes are far nicer than any of what most of the other patrons of the tavern are wearing, which definitely catches your attention.
