In the morning
The next morning began with a somewhat awkward exchange. Tod hadn’t expected to find a fellow taur in the morning, but he certainly was not disappointed by the sight. Jane, now just as much a fox as her roommate, was flustered by how handsome Tod seemed to her in that moment. It was hard for her to say if it was something to do with her body’s changes, or if was something that had been growing inside of her from the start.
“So, are you still supposed to be my… tee chur?” Tod asked, struggling over the word he’d only heard Jane say a few times to describe herself.
“I, uh, see no reason why not,” Jane replied as she walked over towards Tod. The use of four legs in tandem was less difficult than she thought it would have been.
“Good! Because, well uh, you’re pretty nice. And I’d hate for you to have to go off and get a tee chur of your own.” He chuckled a little, rubbing the back of his head. He had been picking up mannerisms like that from Jane over the past couple weeks, slight little quirks that he hardly even noticed.
“You’re nice too Tod,” Jane smiled a little as she looked over at her student. She was truly beginning to think that things were going to be alright.
