Run Away
You look up to the Lionstaurs, your heart racing. You feel the muscles in my your neck start to tighten. You can almost feel the three Lions gaze burn into you. The one lionstaur in red warpaint looks down at you, his green eyes show nearly prideful anger in them. This scares you more than you wish to admit. You use your back legs to push yourself up into a standing position. You look at them and give an awkward chuckle. Red warpaint lionstaur, comes closer as he looks at you. He lets out a large puff of breath in your face. His anger is almost visible as he says, "What are you doing…?" You don't even let him finish his sentence and don't give him a second to think; you surprise him by quickly turning and starting to sprint away. You don't even think that this may be a bad call. You start running away as fast as your legs can carry you. You don't give the males a chance to explain themselves. You have a feeling in the pit of your stomach that if you don't get away and are captured something horrible will happen to you. You know they will be coming after you so you look straight ahead not even attempt to look back at the hostile creatures you are sure are chasing after you. You have not given any thought to where you will go, you just know you need to stay away from them.
You lock your eyes on the collection of trees in front of you, and you think that your best plan of attack is to lose them somewhere in the forest. However, in this spur of the moment plan, you have failed to formulate what you will do when you got there. You push on by telling yourself that you must just keep running – your life may depend on it. It takes you only a few minutes to reach the forest but you manage to reach it you have no clear idea what you will next. You have no idea where you are going. You duck behind one of the large trees and quickly and discretely peer around the tree to see if the males are indeed following you. To your surprise, you discover that only the one in red warpaint and the one in blue warpaint are charging toward your location. Where was the white one you think to yourself? [A trap perhaps?]
You turn your head and look out into the dense forest in front of you, what do you want to do? Do you want to run further into the forest and try to hide? Can you even climb a tree in this body you think to yourself? You start to angrily dig your back claws into the dirt. You realize you have no time to analyze the situation and must make a split-second decision. You feel a fire in your gut. You no longer feel afraid, your confidence starts to return. You know you need to begin to calm down, hold your terror at bay and start thinking straight. You take one more quick glance at the dense forest in front of you. You decide at that moment that you are going to stop being the hunted and turn the tables on the liontaurs. You are going to be one to set up a trap for the creatures chasing you.
You go into the forest and as you do you hear one of the liontaurs yell out to his companions, though you can't make out what he says. You start looking around. Your plan, stupid as it may be, is to try and find some sort of the stick to use as a weapon and whack them as they come to collect you. You find various sticks of all different shapes and sizes. However, you fail to find one that will really fit your purpose. You let out a growl in frustration and start sprinting into the forest, knowing that if you stay in one place too long they are going to find you. The further and further you race into the forest the more and more you realize how dumb your plan really is. Unfortunately, at the moment this is the only plan you can come up with. Just as you are rounding the corner, you hear a loud roar, and suddenly the white painted liontaur stands in front of you smirking. He quickly puts a bow and arrow to your face and says, "You're fast… I will give you that. I haven't seen one as young as you with such powerful legs.” This half complements you, and half intimidates you. His blue orbs lock on you, the arrowhead is pointed at your head. You can see the sharp pointy rock almost touching your nose tip. You feel the stucco of your heart beating against your chest, your coat becoming damp with sweat. You know the liontaur's friends will be coming soon, you are cornered. You look at him and, speaking very softly so as not to offend and anger him, say, "Thanks for the… complement."
You move your back paws around trying to feel a tree, a rock or anything that would block your path. You only feel a small stone near the bottom of your heel but rationalize that you can bear the pain if it means getting that arrow out of your face. You slowly step back a little, not enough to make him think you are about to run away, but just enough so that you are not literally face-to-face with an arrow. You feel every muscle in your new body clench as you realize from the look in his eyes that if you make one wrong move, he will not hesitate to shoot the arrow through your head with such precision that you would be dead in an instant. Your ears twitch trying to listen for his friends, and you realize they are definitely getting closer. You let out a long sigh and try and think. One part of you is telling you to just give up, you will be cornered soon, and you have an arrow trained on you. You already tried to escape once and look how that turned out. But on the other hand, part of you says you're a strong guy and maybe can fight them off.[Well you were a strong guy, but now you're a girl; however, the sentiment is there at least]. You begin to growl internally, unsure which is the best choice. But once again you need to think quickly as second by second your window of opportunity is closing.
Which will you choose, try and fight your way out or surrender like the good girl you are?
