The Camp
You're led back through the thick forest you had been walking through when you first arrived. Hours tick by as the walk becomes tiring. Noticing you obvious fatigue, leader looks back at you, asking you with a glance if you are alright. You nod yes, hoping that the end of the trip is near since you hadn't eaten all day. Your stomach grumbles and groans now, almost accompanying the many distant sounds in the woods. Wood creaks under the cold gaze of the winter night and the wind whips through the hollow branches, whistling a melancholy tune.
A light of torches ahead on the path welcome you to their outpost. A massive palisade made of blackened wood encircles a few tents and a large fire. The group seemed small but everyone cheered their leader's return. The wild whips of the fire are reflected against the large white tents. With cheers, claps and howls, the entire camp welcomes home it's warriors. Celebrations begin immediately and you're graciously invited, of course. Large piles of meat and dressings lay out on a table before you and the growling in your stomach nearly kills you. As you're about to take from the table someone from the camp notices you for the first time. Who is this? He says loud enough for nearly everyone to hear.
