Nightmare
You freeze for a moment, unsure if there will be conflict. The wolves that hadn't noticed you now look on you with terrible intrigue. Just as tempers seem to flare, the Alpha pipes up once more, "This here," He says, pointing as he presents you, "is the traveler! At long last he has arrived! Be gracious and rejoice at his coming." And with that, many more cheers ring out through the echoing forest. Celebrations then resume and everyone is all smiles. The night carries on with jovial exuberance Several of the younger wolves even come up to you, to ask for your autograph or paw-mark on anything they can find. It's quite amusing and everyone has a grand time, including you.
Once you've had your fill of food and joined in plenty of their peculiar games, you let the Alpha know that you need a place to sleep. He graciously finds an empty tent for you personally. He bids you a good night as you lie head on the small bedroll. Sleep takes you kindly into her embrace with all the tender care of a mother. Misty images and faded sounds accompany a most vivid dream. You stand inside a cage at first, watching out across a vast lake, yearning for the water. The blue crests over a barren landscape beneath. But the bottom swallows the water and drains the river of it's life. You now stand atop the same hill as before but now you look out over a small valley and bare witness to a massive grueling battle. Wolves of every size and shape imaginable clash in an epic struggle. Several volleys of arrows are exchanged at the apex of the battle. A stray arrow finds it's way to your chest, filling you with a wave of utter horror and pain like no other.
