The Stables
You look around the room as it fades, leaving you in a stall in a stable. The smell of manure fills the air. You glance around nervously, seeking a way out. Seeing none, you sigh a sound from outside of the stable makes you spin around, you call out and wave over the door to the stall.
Soon a stableboy, anthro like yourself walks up and unlatches the door from the ouside, "Sorry about that" he says poking his head in "the wizard does not give newcomers here much of a house"
"Newcomers?" You ask, "What do you mean?"
"You put on a costume right, and then you became a horse and then you came here? Am I correct?" the stable-boy looks at you with a knowing smirk. His gaze makes you more than a little nervous.
"Yeah" you say "How could you tell?" tilting your long muzzle to regard the stable-boy trying to with interest.
He smiles "I know every horse that comes into my stable, and every newcomer ends up in your stall"
"Well what now?" You say, "how.. how do we get back, back to what we were." Walking forward towards the exit of the stall.
"How do you go back, you mean" he answers smiling "I was born here. To get back home you must first find a costume here, then after about a fortnight you can wear it. After a certain number of them you get to go home."
"Until then you can either find some work and a new place or stay here in the stables with the rest of the horses. You will have to help me though."
"With what?" you turn back to the stable-boy. A sinking suspicion causing your face to twist with distaste. Your new companions next words confirm them.
"Well horses produce a lot of manure so you will have to sweep out the stalls. Including your own of cause."
"I figured that," You respond with a sigh in your voice shoulders slumping." Where is the bloody shovel?" At that moment another person enters the stables. A chestnut anthro stallion. A buzzing fills your head and your large nostrils flare.
He smiles pointing to the shovel by the door to the outside "But I just finished them before you came and was about to go to the town."
"I see we have another newcommer," the stallion say "Shown her the ropes yet Corrin?"
You place a four-fingered hand to your temple rubbing gently to shake some strange feeling out of your mind. "Yes, he--he has." You walk over to the stallion and smile, stretching one hand out to shake his.
He smiles "Instincts can be quite hard to resist when your are not used to them, but I am taken."
You lean against the doorframe and nod vigorously, "Any suggestions." Pushing away from the door stepping into the bright sun. The sounds and sights of a summer afternoon showing a normal--mostly normal scene. Anthros of various kinds working at various tasks, around the farm.
"Stay away from the stallions in closed areas, outside the effects are much less pronounced."
"I'll keep that in mind, thank you. I think I'll take this time to explore a little, if that is alright I'll get a feel for this place.
He nods "Don't go to far, the felines can only patrol so much."
You look back at the stallion in curiosity, "Are there dangerous animals outside the farm?"
He nods "Tigers, lions, bears. We have anthro predators though to protect us."
You nod, turning away, walking into the bright sun.
