Found Him
Your victim-to-be is selling his produce and it is much cheaper then the others too. His stall is far apart from any other farmer’s stall; apparently, none of his competitors are willing to set up shop near him. And while he’s doing more business than the rest, you quickly realize that unlike the other farmers, none of the killer’s customers stay around for longer than it takes to choose their goods and pay for them.
So even the other humans do not like him. Well, maybe he just needs friends. He’s clearly not feeling the spirit of this festival; no ears or tail on him! It would be a kindness, really, if you were to remedy this lapse on his part... In less time than it takes to tell, you’ve put a glamour on him, an illusion which even he himself thinks is real: He now has a proper pair of fox ears, and an elegant fox tail.
Immediatly he looks around shocked and he reaches behind to try and feel the tail. And the other villagers are laughing at him “I told you the kitsunes would get you!” This strikes you as a good excuse to upgrade the glamour on your victim; whatever he may have intended to say in response, it comes out sounding like the inarticulate barks and yips of a mundane fox.
