You couldn’t help it, it was almost like an instinct for you to begin checking around your environment for something to help you. Even a bit of information about your surroundings could help you figure out how you could have escaped. You sniffed in the acrid air filtering through the hallway, and you noticed to your left and right were other cells.
“A prison?” You thought to yourself before looking around at the dank crumbling walls hanging high around you. The black stone was dotted with fuzzy green lichen, weathered and eroded, the way the rocks crumbled around the corners fostered bugs and spiders. The insects were the least of your concern; just down the hallway, you could see a flashing light, sparking in time with the buzzing noises. With each periodic frying, you could hear the pained groans of someone nearby. “It couldn’t be…” You thought as your stomach sank in realization.
