Dishonest
“Um…” you hesitated, something within you just didn’t want to admit to your failure.
“Was it about today?” he asked calmly. Before you could think of your response, you immediately blurted out your anxious word vomit.
“NO!” he stopped for a moment, taken aback.
“Then what could it be?” his voice was laced with confusion.
“It’s my sibling.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah, he’s been particularly annoying lately. He was the reason why things went so awry.”
“I didn’t even know of his involvement in this project. What did he do?”
“He just takes up too much of my time, and my energy, he even wrote my script, which is literally sabotage.” Tingling waves of emotion began to overtake your body. Your father let you continue. “We should do something about him!” you quickly added on.
“Do something… about him?” he asked, confused.
“Yes! Of course!” your voice became quieter, more sly, and even the king could tell something was up.
“What is it that you would like to do?” he replied. His tone seemed doubtful. You continued.
“I’m not sure if someone of his plotting nature will be honest enough for future ruling.” Your father was quiet. Thereafter, you and him continued talking for the rest of the night, and when he finally departed for the time being, something seemed a bit off.
Peacefully, you dozed off in your bed. A knock at your door jolted you awake in the middle of the night. It was your younger sibling.
“Hey. Princess… What’s up.” He said sheepishly. You blinked your eyes open slowly.
“Um. What are you doing in my bedchambers so late at night?” you asked him. He stepped aside to show two imperial guards. Well, you identified them as such in the inky blackness of the night, but when you realized their enormous stature lacked the gold and silver plating of a typical guard, your heart began to beat even more rapidly.
“I believe it is something you mean to do with me, therefore I found it in my best interest to do something first and foremost to prevent that.” the strangers grabbed you by your arms roughly. You protested.
“Keep your hands off of me! What’s going on!” your voice became frantic. Your arms flailed futilely within their grasps. They covered your face with a bag and all you knew is that you were thrown in some type of moving cart. Its wheels turned roughly over the bumpy road, and your paws were bound behind your back such that you couldn’t even budge an inch.
You had no idea what was going on, but a sinking feeling within your stomach told you that this could be the end for you
