In a room star star star star halfstar

The sign reads

"Welcome all new travellers.

To continue you must go through a series of doors.

After going through you will pick a costume. You will then become a half- human and half that creature.

After a week(100 mins a hour,20 hrs a day,10 days a week) has passed you may morph and get another costume. To start of with you will only be able to become 40% human to 60% human.

If you put on a costume you will then become that creature, be teleported to it's home town and have to wait a week before being able to morph.

After 50 costumes you may change into one of your other costumes and become 30% to 70% human. When changing costumes you must wait at least an hour before you can change costumes again.

100 different species/gender costumes allows you to gender-morph and become 20% to 80% human

200 different species costumes allows you to combine costumes and become 10% to 90% human

400 different species costumes allows you to return to your world with no more morphing

And 800 different species costumes makes a polymorph and allows you to morph outside of this world.

Also if you have a costume like a centaur then the human part will always be human and is counted towards the human percentage.

Any gender/species transformation magic of yours can only change your gender(if you have at least 100 costumes) and the animal part to a different animal.

When you change into a different costume (that you already have) you may teleport to that species home town but you will have the week penalty where you have no costume changes.

If you die while wearing a costume you will be reborn at the local inn (or appropriate location ). If you have more then 100 costumes you will lose the costume you had when you died and go to an appropriate place for your next costume.

If you fail to make it out in 100 years(100 weeks in a year) one of your possible forms will be chosen and you will be permanently stuck in that form(apart from magic) until you die. Also there will be no possibility of going back to your world.

Also, one final note: should you take a female form and become pregnant, you won't be able to change your gender until the child is born, though the other aspects of your form may change (the child will change to match.) That is all, and good luck!

You realise that you have to do what the sign said to do and go through the doors and grab a costume.

Your brown hair blew in the wind as you stand on your balcony, sun rising over the tall buildings. You look down at the ground below, the streets bustling with people, cars, busses, and the occasional garbage truck. The fast pace of the city becomes like a roller coaster of sounds and smells as you weave your way through an ant-line of other people down the streets of the busy city. Your mind continues to wander as you imagine yourself walking to and from work, school, your parent’s a hundred times before as you have.
You adjust your glasses and look at your pale palms as you ponder the life you are soon to live upon squirming into your new outfit. The icy wind of the city cutting through your face; you look out onto the water as you ponder your old life. The sound of the cold tile against your loafers cut through the empty white noise of your house as you paced your way back towards your completely white living room.
“These walls look like a hospital.” You think to yourself as you focus your attention to a fuzzy brown costume folded up on your couch.
You admire the fur from a distance, not fully believing for yourself that you picked this one because it matched your own hair color, you enjoyed that! Your head swivels around to close the curtains before sliding out of your neatly creased pants. You button down your shirt and undo your tie, standing before your outfit in your underwear. “This ought to work.” you say to yourself, feeling freer than ever in your house, as you tend to never spend much time nude; your heart begins to race.
You lay alongside the folded up costume. The fur gently tickles your bare skin as you stretch it out along your length as you lay on your familiar couch. “It’s show time.” you say to yourself as you begin to maneuver your feet into the thin fluffy sleeves of the jumpsuit, already feeling the body suit begin to mold to your figure, it forms a tight bond around your ankles, your calves, your knees and thighs. The deeper you go into the suit the tighter it forms around your body.
A feeling you could describe as skin deep pins and needles begin to take over your body as you feel the furs dig themselves into your epidermis, it’s painless yet slightly uncomfortable. You feel the fur starts to form around your neck as you slide your final arm into the sleeve and zip up the length of your outfit. The brown fur beginning to lengthen around your chest, you can begin to feel your spine sprout a tail straight out of your lombard, the force rolling you onto the floor.
You let out a small yelp as the trauma of you falling onto the floor frightens you slightly, you curl your tail uncontrollably, still barely used to the new limb. Your hands begin to form meaty paw pads, almost callused in texture, your fingernails elongating into long thin claws. The flailing of your fluffy tail knocks a few of your trinkets off your glass coffee table, causing a loud crash to be heard throughout your apartment against the reflective tiles.
The fur begins to form along the length of your neck, around your ears and eyes, and you can feel your teeth begin to grow into two jagged spikes. You reach up to feel them, biting your lip not yet used to your new maw. Before you even reach you face the appearance of your new hand surprises you; your boney fingers now covered in a short coarse fur. You gaze upon your lean new figure as you regain your bearings on the process of this transformation.
Your vision almost becomes tunnel focused to the door, as you feel the urge to run into the bathroom to see the entire extent of your new body. You launch towards the door on all fours and swing the hinges open. To your surprise you’re no longer in your apartment, but in your childhood home. Your parents' house?

Parents emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar

You rush downstairs, knowing exactly where everything is from the depths of your memory. Your mind races at the idea of being back in your parent’s house. But only this time something’s different. Your parents greet you from your kitchen as you run into your living room, a look of shock falls upon your face as you realize your parents are now also squirrels.
A large squirrel wearing a button up greats you.
“Welcome back honey.” He embraces you, followed by a much shorter chubby squirrel, wearing an apron.
“Yes dear, how was school?” She asks you. You freeze taken aback,
“Oh yes! School was nice, just the same as usual.” It’s a cinch, of course you’d be able to improvise this situation.
You stand a height roughly in between your parents’. You observe the familiar space of your parents’ kitchen, pots and pans hanging around the walls, teacups neatly placed in china cabinets, the tacky wallpaper spread between the trimming.
You glance out the window to see that the sun has already set, regardless of the fact that the sun was just climbing its way into the sky when you slipped on this outfit. You look out into your childhood street as the streetlights light the path farther beyond what your eye can see, it’s almost nostalgic. Your mother begins to make her way to the opposite of the kitchen island to continue her daily chores, she looks to you excitedly.
“You know that boy has been coming over lately to check up on you. You haven’t been going out as much recently.” Your mother asks with questioning eyes.
“I’ve just been feeling kinda sick is all ma.” You reply quickly, already rehearsing this line in adolescence. Your mind thinks back to your childhood lovers and considers who this may be referring to, though you recall to have been rather focused on your studies throughout this period of time. Did you even have a mate at this time? You ponder to yourself what version of this world you’ve been transported to prior to your transformation. There is something about this world that seems a bit off-putting; you can’t seem to pinpoint the disturbing aura. “Alright well I’m headed to bed.” Your voice trails off as you stumble your way upstairs, still growing used to your elongated digitigrade feet-paws as you ascend the staircase.
Your room remains exactly the way you remember it, though it’s appeared that some objects have become shifted and disheveled. The space seems to stare back at you as you pass the threshold. The floor creaks under the weight of your tired body as you almost seem to melt into your bed.
“So I’m going to have to live as a teenage squirrell again, in my parents’ house like a little kid?” You roll your entire body into your fluffy pink comforter. “I mean there are some things that I’d probably enjoy trying differently now knowing all I know.” You ponder to yourself. “I was in a really different place..” you continue. “Wait and who was that boy mom was talking about?” Your banter continues throughout the night, wondering what kind of adventure has just been presented to you?

School emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar emptystar

You find yourself getting forced to go to school by your parents, over the next several days. Taking your classes, hanging out in clubs, and self enlightenment, all old news to you at this point in your life. You haven’t found it in you to truly mix things up this time around. You’ve always been such a good student, showing up to every single class, turning in every assignment, and attending every seminar and parent teacher conference. There is barely anything to lose in this reality, therefore the world is almost completely yours.
Upon entering your next period you think to yourself, breaking free of the social normative life you’ve placed yourself in since before you were actually this age. “I think I’m going to ditch school today.” You think to yourself, finding yourself in an annoying crowd of other animals around you. You can’t help but think about how uncanny it is to recount your memories in such a novel recreation.
You find a space within the crowd, as they pour into their classrooms, you slip away, making sure your bushy tail isn’t going to giveaway your personal ejection. Your footsteps treading lightly to try to negate more attention from you as you slide through the door.
The school courtyard is just as you remembered it, a vast field which the building of the school wrapping around the emerald blades of grass. “Still as well kept as pristine as I remember.” You sigh to yourself as you consider the possibilities of what this newfound freedom has to offer. In that moment your mind leads you to consider the fun activities in the area.
You walk down the empty streets, the sun shining down from directly above you, almost lighting your path as you walk aimlessly around your childhood town. Your feet almost magically transporting you to exactly where you need to go. “Maybe I can just go shopping or find a party to crash or some shit.” You scoff to yourself, knowing your previous ‘star child’ background never gave you the opportunity to truly enjoy your childhood.
“That’s it!” You think to yourself as your eyes light up in realization. “I’ll go to the abandoned mill. It’s been years since I’ve stopped by there.” A new kind of hop appears in your step as you pick up your pace and stroll merrily along to the abandoned mill, a place long since abandoned in your mind. “I wonder if any of the crew would be there.” Your mind throws around the plethora of names you recall from your teenage friend group, and how you all would spend time there on weekends, and even the occasional study group.
You find yourself among the same decrepit abandoned mill as your memory recalls from your childhood, the sun still high in the sky and illuminating the entirety of the various scattered shacks gathered around an old grain silo. The wood forming deep cracks in the bowing support beams of the structure.
“Wow it hasn’t changed” You say to yourself as you walk up to the enormous grain tower, placing your hand on the graffitied walls, weathered by the years passed. You rush your way into the structure where you spent most of your time in your adolescence, nostalgia washing over you as you traverse the powdery chalk covered ground. You approach the most familiar corner of the shambles of the aged shack and take a seat, viewing the room from the same angle ingrained into your memory.
Something uncanny catches your eye; some writing etched into the concrete near your favorite corner. “I miss you here.” you read aloud, written next to two squirrel stick figures holding hands, one with light brown hair, and one with dark hair, holding hands.
“That can’t possibly be about me.” You laugh to yourself, disregarding the ironic location of the scribe, “Hah, that’s pretty narcissistic.” You continue on that afternoon disregarding the detail.
A few hours pass and you decide to begin making your way home. During your exodus you notice a pair of footprints leading you out off the isolated grounds, though you brush this off as well. The walk home felt surprisingly short, as if you had been teleported, but your return roused no suspicion as you use the remainder of the night to bond with your parents.
That night you go to bed satisfied.
