“Ah.” He says “ that would have been handy to know before we came in.”

 

“I did not notice” you say “When I was in the sun, the colors were normal. Here I thought it was due to the lower light levels.”

 

“Sounds like you have an adaptive level of sight. If there is plenty of light you see normally. Lower the light level and you go to grey scale. How far down the corridor can you see?” he asks you.

 

“Right to the end” you say “why?”

 

“I can only see about half way?”

 

“How do you know where the end is if you can’t see it?”

 

“This is the entrance hall, everyone goes through it to start the dungeon runs. Anyway if we want to make it back in time for food we should go.”
