After walking down the path it gives way and you find yourself in a hole filled with a slime-like substance.

 

You "swim" your way to the edge and pull yourself out.. However when you have pulled your whole body out, that is the least of your concerns.

 

Your legs have merged into a single leg and it is shrinking. A large length of slime has attached itself to your behind as a sort of tail. You reach down to brush it off but your arms have shrunk so much you can't reach and they are pulled back as you try.

 

You fall forward not having the ability to stay upright, shrinking even more as you do so. The slime cushions your fall .

 

Your eyes are pushed out by stalks and you feel your body drying out as you realize you are now a slug.
