The wreck is a submarine. It looks somewhat modern, but it seems as though it's been there for ages.

 

You swim around it, surveying it for anything notable until you stumble across an open hatch. You swim inside. You see a lever on the wall. On a whim you pull it.

 

Suddenly, the hatch slams shut!

 

It turns out there was a good reason for this, as the water begins to drain from the room. You realize that this room must be an airlock. You regrow your legs.

 

As soon as the water is finished draining, a door behind you opens. You gingerly step into the submarine.
