Your shell retracts into your spine. Your scales soften into skin, which then becomes covered with fur. Your legs and arms lengthen, your stubby turtle toes expand into dexterous fingers, and your neck shortens. Your face loses its beak-like quality, becoming that of a primate,and you grow to the size of an adult chimpanzee.

 

You start climbing, and it's quite a climb. The lab must have been underground, because the ladder reaches the surface, and keeps going.

 

At the top, you have quite a view of the weird place you were taken to. You can see the tree you started out under, and the shop, and the jungle, and the beach, and...everything! It's amazing. And you realize, if you climbed back down, you might be able to make a break for it.

 

But would your circle change you back properly? And you'd just end up transforming again anyway. A little ways ahead of you, you see a platform floating in midair. You might be able to jump to it, as a chimp.

 

Or maybe you should turn into a bird. Or just climb down and see about escaping.

 

Or heck, you could just chill there and see what happens--something always tends to happen around here.
