You are standing by a tree
There are 3 paths.
One appears to go to a jungle,
one appears to go to a cave,
one appears to go to a beach,
you could try and climb the tree,
there is a nearby shop you could go in,
or you could do something else.
So what's its going to be?

Adventure Game
For a moment, you sit staring at the computer screen. The game loaded so quickly, that now you’re waiting in of an opening screen. The pixels quickly formulate themselves into the backdrop of an open field on all sides of you. The faintest motion of wind rustling the thick landscape of grasses ripples across your vision, but even as the distant landscape formats with the loading page, nothing but the field is there. You shift your head, turning your gaze within the virtual reality of the game to check to your sides, but find only more of the same rippling landscape there as well. The same, golden shade of grass sprouted up from the Earth on all four sides of your body.
Eyebrows knitting together, you try to figure out what is supposed to be happening. “There’s nothing here” you mutter, considering trying to remove the goggles you’d placed on until you notice a selection screen. “Choose your character” flashed as fading white letters in the distant backdrop of blue sky. You read it, though you’re not sure what character to select or even how to do that.
You eyes scanned over everything again, noticing that a sign had been added to the game off to the left, font sketched into its surface: “Random.”

Custom
You still can't believe the quality of this virtual reality game, from how real the world looks to the sounds of rippling grass around yourself, gently swaying strands that rustles in a digital breeze.
You look back to the small sign in front of you, a small frown on your face at the sight of the word 'Random'. In your experience, anything that was up to chance could only end poorly, and you begin to look for another sign.
Much to your surprise, before you can fully turn, the sign before you flickers, the letters twisting and morphing into a different word entirely: 'Custom'. You smile at that, a faint chuckle escaping your throat. "Now this is what I'm talking about."
You head to the sign and tap it, marveling at how the game was somehow able to give you a sense of tactile immersion. As you press the sign, it glows gently; and several new options pop up, far more than you'd expected. There's the expected race and gender menus, but also a series of odd menus, like 'stance' and 'species'.
The only question is... Which button do you press next?

Gender (Female)
Never one to beat around the bush, you go straight for the gender option, arching an eyebrow as a few more options than you had expected appear. Male and female are there, of course; but there's also categories for hermaphrodites and gender-neutral settings. You ignore the last two for now, focused on the first two selections instead.
While it would be nice to play this game in your natural male gender, you can't help but remember how all of your characters in roleplaying games are female. It's a dilemma, but one that only lasts a few seconds. Old habits beat natural instincts, and you press the 'female' button with a grin on your face.
The effects of your action are immediate, a strange sensation flowing through your form, like you've just been dipped into a warm pool. You look down and find that for form is beginning to change, your arms and legs becoming slimmer; your hips beginning to round.
Your scalp tingles as though someone's massaging it, and you watch as your hair grows longer and longer; until it hangs in your peripheral vision and rests against your neck.
You've never grown your hair out this long before, so this is quite a novel sensation, and you brush the strands that tickle your cheeks to a spot behind your ears. Of course, the most prominent change is the one to your chest, as a pair of supple breasts slowly stretch out your shirt, held tight against the fabric. You can't help but let out a small moan at the feeling of how tightly your clothing is hugging you in some places, and you hurriedly undo the top two buttons of your shirt.
You know that you should probably be more modest, given that you're apparently now a woman; but you also realize that you're in a videogame. The judgment of a few pixels doesn't bother you in the least, and you look down to find yourself staring at a modest pair of breasts.
Naturally, you let your hands wander to them, squeezing each gently only to moan as a spike of sensation shoots through your form. That was unexpected; somehow that really felt... Real, for lack of a better term. You grin and make a mental note to explore your form later, letting your hands fall back to your curvy hips as you look back to the screen.

Species Change(Kitsune)
Now that the gender was out of the way you had another choice to make; your species. Several options appear on the screen for you to choose from. Your eyes glaze over the options, several pages of choices available for you to flip through. Deciding to go with the first animal that strikes your fancy you choose the “fox” option.
For a moment nothing happens and you expect the virtual reality game to be a sham. However, as you start to feel frustrated, a warm sensation, like a warm breeze blowing across your skin, begins to start at your toes and fingertips. You glance down at your hands, finding rich ebony fur growing around your fingers. You find yourself smiling, feeling a sense of excitement as you grow out your new fur coat.
After your coat grows in and under your clothes your face begins to lengthen, your mouth and nose shaping into a brilliant muzzle. Your eyes take on a sharper look, gaining a golden gaze. You are transforming into the perfect model of an anthro red fox. There is only one thing that has not yet occurred with the change that makes you curious; you’ve not yet grown a tail. Glancing up at the screen again you find another series of options has shown up on the screen.
This option asks for how many tails you would like your new form to have. Any number from one to nine appears on the screen, though you think the higher numbers would be more of a potential hindrance in this adventure game. At the same time you don’t won’t to be boring either with only one tail so you look at your other options. Finally you select the box marked for two tails and hit the submit button.
Another moment passes before you feel a tingling sensation behind you. You glance over your shoulder, watching with amazement as a pair of long, bushy tails begin to sprout out behind you. Surprisingly there is not much pain with these transformations, you note, but rather just a warm sensation and a feeling of being stretched out in places. When your tails finally stop growing you glance at the screen, finding another set of options before you.

Stance Change(Quadruped)
The last set of options that lay before you on the screen is your option for stance. You can choose to remain an anthro, become a taur, or even go into a quadruped form. You consider your options carefully; while remaining in anthro form or going into a taur form will allow you to interact with things easier, the chance to become a “normal” cute, small fox in all it’s glory is too much to pass up. You hit the “quadruped” option and await the next change.
This time the warmth is more intense, seeming to urge your body down on all fours. You drop forward, hands instinctively curling into fists. You can feel your bones bending and cracking, taking the shape of your new form. You gasp out, your entire body structure changing into a much smaller form. You squeeze your eyes tightly closed, waiting until the change will be over.
It takes a full minute or so for the change to take place. Eventually the warmth fades and you feel more comfortable, more natural in your pose. You open your golden eyes to find that the scenery around you has changed.
For miles around you there appears to be a lush, green grassland. High above you the sky is shining a brilliant blue. Fluffy white clouds roll within the sky and a bright sun shines down upon you, warming your fur. Your ears twitch as your eyes adjust to this new light source slowly, taking in everything that you can. Everything feels so real… it is as if you truly are a fox! This game, you realize, is more high tech than you give it credit for.
Taking one pawstep forward you feel something else begin to shift as well. Your thought process seems to be altering as well, individual thoughts slowing down as you truly settle into your form. Moments later your mind seems to have gone blank, replaced with the instincts and thought patterns of a true fox in the wild.
With your twin tails swishing you start off through the grass. There are three needs that you long to fill right now -- hunger, thirst, and a place to sleep. You don’t even think, you let your instincts guide you.
Scenting the air you can smell prey on the wind, as well as water. Your sharpened sense of hearing can pick up what appears to be the babbling of a small brook -- a perfect source of water for a smaller creature such as yourself.
Your long, slender legs lead you through the grass for a couple of minutes before you arrive at the water. You glance around, ears twitching again as you search for not only sounds of prey but for other predators as well. You don’t know what you could potentially face in this world, only that you must be prepared to take whatever steps are necessary in order to ensure your survival.
After you confirm that there are no other predators in the area you must now figure out what it is you’re going to hunt. Your stomach is running on empty and the option for smaller, easier to catch prey is available. But you must also consider the fact that if you go after the harder to catch, larger prey that it will fill you up more and give you the energy you need to find a den.

Go After Larger Prey
You decide to go after larger prey. Though it could be tougher to get you feel fairly confident that you’ll succeed. Tuning into your senses you check what is available and almost immediately the scent of a rabbit catches your interest. Licking your lips you drop to a crouched position and start to move through the grass once more. There must be a warren around here, you realize, which meant this could be a perfect place to live. Prey, water… all you’d need after this was a good place to sleep and you’d be set!
Lowering your nose to the ground you begin to search for signs to tell you how close your potential prey is. The large ears atop your head twitch, straining to hear even the slightest movement in the grass. Your head turns this way and that, catching sound, but you are still getting used to your new body. Instinct might be strong, but you still have a ways to go before you are a perfect fox. Right now your actions almost resemble that of a younger fox, one inexperienced with the world. But you’ll learn.
With each pawstep drawing you closer to the first bit of prey. Is this the rabbit you were seeking? A quick scent of the breeze tells you no, that this is, in fact, a porcupine and a dangerous prey animal to try and go after. Your ears flicked back, a low growl building in your throat as you catch another scent nearby too. The scent of another fox…
…The question is, do you confront this trespasser or do you keep up your hunt?

Confront The Trespasser!
You are a wild animal now and this is YOUR territory. You’re not just going to let someone else waltz in and start taking your prey! Floofing up your fur you start stalking through the grass once more. The intruding fox is another vixen and thus only a threat to you. You are, by no means, willing to share territory with another fox until you secure yourself a mate and the dominant position for your territory.
When you find the other vixen she has killed and is eating the prey that you yourself turned your nose up at -- the porcupine. A territorial dispute is about to start and you feel damned sure that you won’t be given up anything in this fight. The fur around you is raised, particularly along your bushy tail, making you seem larger and more intimidating.
You ignore the fact the other vixen is eating and lunge for her right foreleg, aiming to clamp your jaws down upon the upper part of her leg. The other vixen lets out a screech, your attack successful. Blood pools into your mouth as you clamp down harder, hoping to stress the bone and give this other fox something to remember you by. But you’re neglecting one fact -- she can fight too.
The other vixen snaps at your left ear since you are more or less facing her direction. The other vixen is less than pleased with you interrupting her meal, and it seems that she had the same sort of mindset as you did about the area. This is a prime territory… there was bound to be competition for it.
Though you feel pain it merely fuels the anger you feel towards the other female for invading the territory you’re trying to claim. You let out a snarl, snapping your jaws upward towards the other vixen’s face now. A yelp and the firm feel of her flesh in your mouth tells you that your attack was a success. You feel a bit of pride -- you could do this! You were going to win this territory and keep it, come Hell or high water!
The battle waged on for another minute or two, the snapping of jaws, drawing of blood, and fur flying filling the scene. But at last your efforts paid off as the other vixen backed down, turning tail before running away.
You were victorious!
Now you could lay claim to not only your prize of the territory but the rest of the other vixen’s meal as well. You padded closer to the porcupine, mindful of the quills as you lowered your head to the soft belly and began to feed. The bloody meat was good, easing the pangs of hunger that were within your gut as you ate more and more from the creature. After a while you felt full and you drew away from the remains of the kill. Now you had to figure out what to do next.
