My biggest problem is their is no sense of peril. For instance their is a scene where the main characters meet on the street with guns from at least one side. This has no bearing apart from one of the characters being uncomfortable.
Another case is when the main characters get found out to be dating despite their animal forms being on the opposite side of the war. This is over in a couple of pages.
The transformations are only on a couple of pages and have no real bearing on the book.
Say away from this one from both a story and a transformation perspective
