Bleak: The story of a shapeshifter

While the title does say shapeshifter and they are some shifting moments, this is not a transformation book. Although it does have some unique parts in this space such as the transformation is not instant.

Story wise it is a pretty standard oppressive government with an escaped genetic experiment forced into working for them.

Form a writing point of view my biggest criticism is the flashbacks. It is quite hard to tell the flashbacks from the realtime parts

I got 20% of the way into it before giving up
