I think the main problem I had with this story is the characters. I don't even remember the names of any of the characters.
The main adult characters seems to willing to banish(and kill) one of the main character.
The 'twist' with the brother is entirely to predictable when they return
The device to keep them safe seems to be way to breakable to be left out liek they did
In conclusion, avoid this book
