It starts off with a private detective story while introducing a bunch of characters that we have no idea who we should care for
Suddenly the story completely changes into a prophesied person from another world who falls in love with someone they have just met.
I think if you split it at that point you might be able to rescue one or the other story, but as as it stands, this book has too many flaws to recommend.
