Rating 3 / 5
The first few chapters I struggled to get though. Most of the characters do not play any role in the story once the journey begins.
The first obstacle in the journey is well written in that the time passes much like it does for the main character.
With regards to the main character , at first the only decision she makes is to set off after her kidnapped friend.
The kidnapped friend does not seem to have much character. To borrow a phrase, if you replace them with a lamp how much does the story change
Overall I struggled with rating this book, I was tossing between as low as a one and as high as three. Why after all of this am I giving it a three? The transformation, it shows the effect of repeated skinwalker type changes, both mentally (and a little physical). Also the dangers of going to deep into the animal mindset.
