While the story is decent, the characters do not seem to grow much. And while the story is about the transformation, it seems like you could easily replace it with something else.
Transformation wise, we have human to reverse were-dragon. Their is a bit of character development in that he eventually accepts having to kill people.
Story wise it is pretty much a straight, lost heir of king is removed from line of succession and then they try to kill him. Not much unique about it though.
Overall I cannot find much to recommend from a story or transformation POV.
